Funeral services for Frank Wisdom, 89, were held May 25 at the John W. German Funeral Home in Steele. The Rev. Jim Doyle officiated.
He was born January 28, 1895, at Poplar Bluff and died May 23, 1984, at the Chickasawba Hospital in Blytheville.
Mr. Wisdom was a retired farmer and had lived in this community since 1908. He was a Charter Member of the American Legion Post Number 88 in Caruthersville.
He was the son of the late Tom Wisdom and Lillie Wilson Wisdom.
He was united in marriage to Pheoba J. Mathis on October 11, 1924, in Flint, Mich.
He leaves two brothers, John L. Wisdom of Blytheville, and Oscar Wisdom of St. Louis.
Active pallbearers were Ralph Ketchum, Claude Samford, Beaumont Smith, Pinnell Capehart, Jack Hatley and Mike Riddick.
Honorary pallbearers were Bynum Hester, T.R. Payne, Charles Kelley, Clarnece Poteet, Howard Smith, Bill George, Lemond Thompson and Luke Howell.
Burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele. John W. German Funeral Home in Steele was in charge.

Mrs. Phoebia Jane Wisdom born September 8, 1877 at Henderson, Tenn., died August 21, 1965 at her home in Denton. She was 87.
Mrs. Wisdom was a Baptist. She was united in marriage with Frank Wisdom, December 22, 1923 in Flint, Mich.
Services were August 22, 1965 at the First Baptist Church at 2:30 p.m. with the Rev. James F. McCrary officiating.
Burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery, with John W. German Mt. Zion Chapel Service.
Mrs. Wisdom was preceded in death by her two sons, Cooper and Eutra Mathis and a grandson, Billy Mathis, whom she raised.
She leaves her husband, Frank Wisdom; one great-granddaughter, Jennifer Mathis of Paragould, and nieces.
Pallbearers were: Ralph Ketchum, Lewis Riddick, Tommy German, Eutra Burton, Howard Smith, and Bill Smith.
