Mrs. Alphia M. Dunn, 84, died Thursday, May 8, 1980 at the Chickasawba Hospital in Blytheville, Ark.

Funeral service was held Sunday afternoon, May 11 at the John W. German Funeral Home Chapel in Steele with the Rev. Bill Luttrell officiating.

Mrs. Dunn was born March 14, 1896 at Mayfield, Ky. She was the daughter of the late Albert Woodward and Mary Matilda King Woodward. She was united in marriage to James Dunn in 1913.

Mrs. Dunn was a member of the General Baptist Church of Denton.

She leaves two sons, Roby Dunn and Joe Albert Dunn, both of Caruthersville; five daughters, Mrs. Loyd Swindle of Steele, Mrs. Dephna Ginn of Olive Branch, Miss., Mrs. Golda Fowler of Steele, Mrs. Mary Lola Dowdy of Dodge City, Kansas, and Mrs. Freda Scott of Braggadocio.

She also leaves 20 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were the following grandsons: Freddy Swindle, Rondall Swindle, Randall Swindle, Jimmy Graham, Russell Dunn, Chuck Fowler, Rickey Scott and Randall Scott.

Burial was in Mount Zion Cemetery in Steele with the John W. German Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
