The Rev. Joe Smith officiated at the funeral services for Russell Turnage Friday, September 25, at 3:00 p.m. at the Holly Grove Baptist Church in Cooter.
Mr. Turnage was born December 19, 1908, and died September 23 at the age of 61.
Survivors include his wife, Josephine Holly Turnage and his father-and-mother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. D. Ben Holly.
Pall bearers were Virgil Jones, Jake Samford, Arlene Avery, Loyd Stinnett, Gene Parker and Doc Barger.
Interment was in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele with The Original German Funeral Home of Steele in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Josephine Holly Turnage, 75, of Cooter, died Sunday at Caruthersville Nursing Center. Born Nov. 2, 1910 in Caruthersville, she was the daughter of Clyde and Joe Agnes Holly McElvane. She was the widow of Russell Turnage.
She is survived by three aunts, Mrs. Allie Bowman and Mrs. Jessie Meade, both of Memphis, and Mrs. Hazel Tweet of Houston.
Services were Tuesday at 2 p.m. at German-Aumon Funeral Home chapel in Steele, the Rev. James McCrary officiating, with burial in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
