Mrs. Thelma May King Spencer, 81, of Poplar Bluff, formerly of Steele, died Aug. 7, 1989 at Doctors Hospital in Poplar Bluff. Born Feb. 24, 1908 at Steele, she was the daughter of Charlie and Luetta Luckingbee King. She was the widow of David William Spencer. She was a housewife.
She is survived by five sons, Jack Spencer of Cordoba, Argentina, Jim Spencer of Grand Rapids, Mich., Lon C. Spencer of Bethany, Okla., William Spencer of Van, Texas and Fred Spencer of Belleville, Ill.; Two daughters, Mrs. Millie Sommers of Crown Point, Ind., and Mrs. Helene Kelley of Poplar Bluff; Four brothers, Albert King of Wingo, Ky., Austin King of Steele, Parker King of Como, Miss., and David King of Hector, Ark.; Three sisters, Mrs. Lillian Haley of Kennett, Mrs. Delia Becker of Poplar Bluff and Mrs. Ollie Hoagland of Sumiton, Ala.; Twenty-four grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services are today (Thursday) at 2 p.m. at Bradshaw's German-Aumon Funeral Home chapel in Steele, the Rev. David powell officiating, with burial in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
