Funeral services were held at the local Methodist church Thursday, Feb. 10, for A.M. Wren, who died at the Blytheville hospital Wednesday after several months' illness of kidney trouble. The services, held Thursday afternoon, were in charge of the pastor, Rev. M.A. Massey, and interment was in the Mt. Zion cemetery.
Mr. Wren, who was 80 years of age, was well known in the south end of the county, being a large land owner. He came here in 1901 from Kentucky, his native state, and he was an active member of the Methodist Church and a citizen who was always for the betterment of his community.
He is survived by his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Pearl Zietler of St. Louis and Mrs. Myrtie Davis of Steele, three grandsons and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held for Mrs. Sonora Wren, 79, at the Methodist Church Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 with Rev. Marvin Niblack officiating.

Mrs. Wren, who made Steele her home for 46 years, died at the Ringland Clinic Monday, November 3, 1947, where she had been a patient for 10 weeks.

Survivors include one brother, Guy Cooksey, of Evanston, Ill., one step-daughter, Mrs. Pearl Zeitler of St. Louis; one foster daughter, Mrs. Myrtle Davis of Steele; 12 nephews, 10 nieces, 2 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

Interment was made at Mount Zion Cemetery with German Undertaking Co. in charge of arrangements.
