Funeral services were held at 4 o'clock Monday afternoon for Mrs. Ethel McCormick Kifer, 26, wife of Theodore Kifer of near Pascola, who died at the Memphis Baptist Hospital Sunday.

She had been ill for some time and was removed to the hospital last Tuesday. Death was attributed to peritonitis.

The services were conducted at the Holland Baptist Church by Rev. T.C. Tharp, pastor, assisted by Rev. J.L. Pinkston. With the German Undertaking Co. in charge, interment was made in the Mount Zion Cemetery.

Ethel McCormick Kifer was born December 26, 1912 and died May 14, 1939, age 26 years, 4 months and 18 days. She was married to James Theodore Kifer July 21, 1928. To this union was born three children: Betty June, Letha Mae and James Cleveland. She was a loving mother and a good wife.

Mrs. Kifer was a member of the Baptist Church of Holland, having accepted Christ as her Savior at the age of 12.

Besides the husband and three children, she also leaves to mourn her departure her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence J. McCormick; three sisters: Mrs. Bethel King, Miss Pearl Lynn McCormick of Kennett and Cara Laverna McCormick; six brothers: Forrest McCormick of St. Louis, Charles Stanley, Cleveland J. Jr., Billy Jean, Joe Mandon and Buddy McCormick; one niece, Cheryl Sue King; one grandfather, J.S. White, of Memphis; three aunts; two uncles; one great uncle, several other relatives and a host of friends.
