Elmer Arnell Milligan, 75, died Monday, January 1, 1990 at the Crittenden Memorial Hospital in West Memphis, Arkansas.
Born August 5, 1914 at Michie, Tenn., he was a son of the late James Odis Milligan and Decie Wardlow Milligan. Besides his parents, a son, Elmer preceded him in death.
Mr. Milligan was a retired truck driver from Utley Lumber Company when he lived in Steele, Mo.
On June 17, 1939, at Caruthersville, Mo., he was united in marriage to Laura May Bushart.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Laura May Milligan, of Marion, Ark.; a son and daughter-in-law, Archie and Barbara Milligan, of West Memphis; two grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; two sisters: Mrs. Minnie Wood of Bassett, Ark., and Mrs. Nellie Fisher of Michigan City, Ind.; and a brother, Seldon Milligan of Bassett.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, January 3, 1990, at the John W. German Funeral Home in Steele with Mr. Bill Wheeler officiating.
Burial was at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele, with John W. German Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Laura Milligan, 90, of West Memphis, Ark., formerly of Steele, died Monday, Aug. 1, 2005 at the Broadway Healthcare Center in West Memphis.
Born Feb. 28, 1915 in Silverdale, she was the daughter of the late George Washington Bushart and Ellie May Travis Bushart.
She also preceded in death by four children: Elmer Otis Milligan, Doris Jean Milligan, Billy Arnell Milligan and Thomas Lee Milligan and her husband Elmer (Red) Milligan.
Laura was united in marriage to Elmer Arnell (E.A. "Red") Milligan on June 17, 1939 in Caruthersville. He preceded her in death.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Missouri Street Church of Christ in West Memphis.
Mrs. Milligan leaves one son, Archie Milligan and his wife Barbara, of West Memphis; and Four grandchildren: Kelly Milligan, Archie Milligan, Jr., Yon Sin Finch and Heath Finch.
Funeral services for Mrs. Milligan were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 4, 2005 at the John W. German Funeral Home Chapel in Steele with Mr. Bill Wheeler officiating. Burial was at the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele with John W. German Funeral Home of Steele in charge.
Pallbearers were Randy McDaniel, Rocky Booker, Benny Jones, Ronnie Bray, Christopher Pritchard and Caleb Pritchard.
