Bethel "Beth" K. Spencer, 87, of Memphis, Tenn., formerly of Blytheville, Ark., died Monday, Dec. 7, 2009, at her home.
She was the daughter of the late Joseph Dewey and Chole Winfred Kenley of Holland.
She was employed at G.M.A.C. Finance Office in Blytheville. All the years she lived in Blytheville she taught a Sunday School Class at the Yarbro Methodist Church.
She was promoted by G.M.A.C. Finance Company to Supervisor of Finance at the Memphis branch.
She was the first woman to ever hold this position, which she successfully did until she retired in 1987.
She was an active member of the Whitehaven Methodist Church.
Mrs. Spencer leaves her husband, Robert Spencer, of the home; One daughter, Vicki Bunch Cahan, of Los Angeles, Calif.; Two grandsons: Joseph Wade "Joe" Gilmore and Coy Peeper, both of Memphis; and Two nieces: Sherrie Rone and her husband Jake of Portageville and Linda Shumate and her husband Travis of Union City, Tenn.
Funeral services for Mrs. Spencer were held Tuesday, Dec. 10, at the John W. German Funeral Home Chapel in Steele with Pastor Jan Dillard officiating.
Burial was at the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele.
