Gideon Crews, prominent Holland farmer, died at 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 28, 1955, in St. Joseph Hospital in Memphis, where he had been taken Saturday after a lengthy illness.

Born in Franklin, County, Mo., Mr. Crews had been a resident of this community for approximately 50 years. His lifetime occupations include the operation of the first dredge boat in Pemiscot County some 50 years ago, farming and the timber and lumber business.

Funeral services were held Friday at 4:00 p.m., at the Holland Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Marvin Niblack.

Mr. Crews is survived by his wife, who was formerly Miss Sadie Edwards; and one sister, Mrs. E.H. Musgrave, of Dallas, Texas.

Interment was at Mount Zion Cemetery with German Funeral Home in charge of funeral arrangements.
