Services for Jesse Wingfield, 90, of Route 1, Steele, who died June 27th at the Chickasawba Hospital in Blytheville, Ark., were held June 29th at the Holly Baptist Church in Cooter with the Rev. Joe Smith and the Rev. David Hart officiating. Burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery with the German-Aumon Funeral Home of Steele in charge of arrangements.
He was born July 18th, 1886 in Okolona, Ark., the son of the late Joe and Sarah Randle Wingfield. He was a retired farmer and was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Ollie Mae Wingfield.
Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Narvell Pounds of Steele, Mrs. Vera Hopper of McKenzie, Tenn., Mrs. Gladys DeHoff of Hot Springs, Ark., Mrs. Mavie Lovins of Steele, and Mrs. Mary Ruth Carter of Steele; four sons, Cecil Wingfield of Glen Allen, Miss., Clarence Wingfield of Bell City, Hauzie Wingfield of Campbell, and Gene Wingfield of Steele; 35 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren, and seven great great grandchildren.
Honorary pallbearers were Bert Poteet, Thelbert Bishop, Guy Azbill, Hooper Azbill, Tom Hopper, Tommy German, Walter, N. Holly, George Ladd, C.S. Allbritton, J.W. Neil, Kelley Joe Rhodes, Quenton Still, Homer Ledford, Cluster Taylor, Marshall Thomas, Earl Flanagan, Clyde Middleton, Ray Campbell, Dale McClure and Bill George.
Pallbearers were Randy Wingfield, Jessie Carter, Lewis Riddick, Bill Hopper, Carlos Robinson and Danny Wingfield.

She was born May 24th, 1888 in Clark County, Ark., the daughter of the late Billy ad Susan Huffman Jones.
Survivors include her husband, Jesse Wingfield of the home; five daughters, Mrs. Narvell Pounds, Mrs. Mavis Lovins, and Mrs. Mary Ruth Carter, all of Steele, Mrs. Vera Hooper of McKenzie, Tenn., and Mrs. Gladys DeHoff of Caruthersville; four sons, Cecil Wingfield of Glen Allen, Miss., Clarence Wingfield of Bell City, Hauzie Wingfield of Campbell, and Gene Wingfield of Steele; one sister, Mrs. Ruth Allen of Gurdon, Ark.; 35 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren.
Also surviving is Annie Kinnon, who cared for Mrs. Wingfield for the past 15 years.
