Johnnie Northern McCormick, 83, of Heber Springs, Ark. died Thursday, July 31, 2008 at her home.
Born April 18, 1925 in Holland, she is the daughter of the late William Northern and Mattie Mae Kennedy Jones.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Billy J. McCormick; one brother, Thomas Northern; and two sisters, Ester Callens and Bernice Owens.
She was a member of the Church of Christ.
Johnnie was proud of having been an election official and enjoyed making bears for the children's ward at Jefferson Medical Center and working in her garden. She was an avid collector of glassware.
Mrs. McCormick leaves three daughters: Karen Carter and her husband Charles of Maumelle, Ark., Marsha Daniel of Heber Springs and Gwen Hall and her husband Mike of Moundville, Ala.; One brother, Fenter Northern, of Montgomery, Ala.; One sister, Kathleen Wilson, of Shell Knob; Three grandchildren: Jason Carter and his wife Rebecca, Julie Carter and Zachary Ray and his wife Rebekah; One step-son, Sam Hall; Four great-grandchildren: Jacob Carter, Faith Carter, Sarah Carter and Kelsea Ray; and One step-great-granddaughter, Kayla Martin.
Graveside services for Mrs. McCormick were held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 2, at the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele with Fenton Northern officiating.
Memorial services for Mrs. McCormick will be held at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 10, at the 40th and Hazel Street Church of Christ in Pine Bluff, Ark.
Dwight's Family Funeral Service of Heber Springs are in charge of services.
