Elfa Mae Collins was born September 27, 1905 at Dora, Missouri, and departed this life on April 7, 1972 having reached the age of 66 years, six months and eleven days.
On October 22, 1922 she was united in marriage to Andy J. Collins at Dora, Missouri. To this union one daughter was born, Mrs Joan Myree Anderson of Van Buren, Missouri.
She trusted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior on June 14, 1950 and became a charter member of the Friendship Baptist of West Plains, Missouri, in which she served her Lord and Master faithfully through the years.
Surviving are, her husband, Andy collins, one daughter, Mrs Joan Anderson, two granddaughters, Debbie and Dyann Anderson, all of Van Buren, Missouri, one sister, Mrs J.S. Collins of West Plains, Missouri, one brother, Mr Arlis Russell of Springfield, two half brothers; Arthur Fields, and Artis Fields, both of West Plains, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Mr & Mrs J.F. Russell of West Plains, and one sister, Miss Delphia Russell of Dora, Missouri. She will be missed by those of the family, her Church and her many, many friends more than words can express.
Services were held Sunday, April 9, 1972 at 3:00pm in the Carter Chapel, West Plains, with the Reverend H.G. Braynard and Reverend Robert Brotherton officiating.
Honorary pallbearers were Lindsey Briscoe, Melvin Ford, L.T. Kissinger, Gerald Bruner, Bill Tulk, Paul Hoover, Hoover McClintock and Ray Smith. Active pallbearers were LeRoy Brown, Wayne Vonallmen, Bill Hardcastle, Butch Fine, Jim Lewis and Bill Fore.
