Services were held at the Church of God in Tyler, Wednesday afternoon for Mrs. Susie Lurene Mashburn, 38, who died at her home in Steele on Monday, October 28. The Rev. B.E. Ellis of Flat River, assisted by Rev. Walter Wilhite of Tyler, conducted the service and burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery with H.S. Smith Funeral Home service.
Mrs. Mashburn was born in Lexington, Ala., October 5, 1919, the daughter of Mrs. Roxie Davis and the late Wiley H. Davis. In December, 1937, at Lawrenceburg, Tenn., she was married to Oliver Paul Mashburn, now living in Winter Haven, Fla.
She was a member and a minister of the Church of God and until her health failed was active in church work in this area.
In addition to her mother, Mrs. Davis of Steele and her husband, she leaves four sons, Jimmy Paul Mashburn of Caruthersville, Roger, David and Nathaniel Mashburn of Steele; a daughter, Martha Fay Mashburn, of Steele; three brothers, Bud and Hurchel Davis of Steele and Arthur Davis of Tyler; and five sisters, Mrs. Janie Lefan, Cherokee, Ala., Mrs. Zula Palmer, Dyer, Tenn., Mrs. Tessie Smith, Chattanooga, Tenn., Mrs. Beatrice Gestring, Battle Creek, Mich. and Mrs. Lucille Hall, St. Louis,
