Services were held at the First Baptist Church in Steele last Thursday afternoon for Herbert Franklin Gallaher, 80. The Rev. James McCrary officiated and burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery with LaForge Funeral Home service.
Mr. Gallaher was born in Waynesboro, Tenn., September 30, 1885 and died at a hospital in Farmington on March 22. He farmed in the Braggadocio area for many years and for the past 20 years had lived in Steele. He retired about two years ago.
Survivors include his wife Mrs. Bonnie Lee Gallaher and a son, Joe Lynn Gallaher, of the home in Steele; a brother, Corben Gallaher of Braggadocio; four half-sisters, Mrs. Marion Shaw and Mrs. Ora Sutton of Lawrenceburg, Tenn., Mrs. Karen Deeters and Mrs. Clara Deeters of Indianapolis; and his step-mother, Mrs. Willie Gallaher of Steele.

Funeral services were held Sunday, Janaury 15, 1978, at the John W. German Funeral Home in Steele for Mrs. Bonnie L. Gallaher, 92. The Rev. James F. McCrary and the Rev. Paul Kirkindall officiated.

Mrs. Gallaher was born November 1, 1885, at Waco, Texas, the daughter of W.A. Long and Clarisa Harris Long. She was united in marriage to Herbert F. Gallaher at Braggadocio and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Steele.

Mrs. Gallaher (Aunt Bonnie as she was known) died Janaury 14 at Pemiscot Medical Center in Hayti.

She leaves a son, Joe Gallaher of Steele; a sister, Mrs. Joy Riddick, of Steele; and a brother, Carl J. Long of Green Bay, Wisconsin.

Her husband and a son, Clinton, preceded her in death. Pallbearers were Willie D. McDaniel, Randy McDaniel, Gene Reams, Harry Burton, Jr., Paul Yarbrough and Homer Alexander.

Burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele with the John W. German Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
