Raymond "Pete" Sandage, 70, of Steele, died July 12, 1993 at Methodist Central Hospital in Memphis. Born Feb. 20, 1923, he was the son of George and Addie Stowe Sandage. A farmer, he was a member of Tyler Church of God.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Virginia Fraze Sandage of Steele; Three sons, William Sandage of Dyersburg, Anthony Sandage of Holland and Randall Sandage of Sterling, Okla.; A daughter, Sandra Ann Peterson of Union, Mo.; A brother, Leonard Sandage of Poplar Bluff; Two sisters, Effie Southern of Blytheville and Betty Caruthers of Steele; Seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Leona Chester; a brother, Clayburn Sandage; and two sisters, Lenora Fraze and Doris June Smith.
Services were July 15 at 2 p.m. at Tyler Church of God, the Rev. Dennis West officiating, with burial at Mt. Zion Cemetery, Bradshaw's German-Aumon Funeral Home of Steele in charge.

Virginia Louise Sandage, 78, of St. Clair, formerly of Steele, died Tuesday, May 2, 2006 at the Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
Born June 3, 1927 in Midland, Tenn., she was the daughter of the late Rowe and Myrtle Lucas Fraze.
She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Leona Chester and three brothers, William Fraze, Jesse Fraze and James Fraze.
Virginia was united in marriage to Raymond "Pete" Sandage on Sept. 5, 1942 in Caruthersville.
He preceded her in death on July 12, 1993.
She was a cook for Cooter School and a member of the Friendship Baptist Church.
Mrs. Sandage leaves three sons: William (Debra) Sandage of Half Moon, Ark., Anthony (Lisa) Sandage of Steele and Randal Sandage of Kennett; One daughter, Sandra Peterson, of St. Clair; One brother, John (Ginger) Frazer of Swoyersville, Pa.; and One sister, Anna Barron, of Kennett.
Funeral services for Mrs. Sandage were held at 1 p.m., Saturday, May 6, 2006 at the Friendship Baptist Church with Bro. Dale Rickman officiating.
Burial was at the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele with Bradshaw Funeral Home of Kennett in charge of services.
