Maxine Delores Kirst Hogue was born January 17, 1935 at Stuart, Ark, to Otto Paul Ernst Kirst and Catherine Elizabeth Breckle Kirst and died at 6:30 a.m., Saturday, May 2, 1998 at her home in Nixa.

Maxine was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Nixa, and retired from employment at GAB after 33 years of service. Maxine was also a secretary to the late Red Foley and George Morgan. Maxine loved flowers and will be greatly missed.

Maxine is survived by her hus­band William P "Bill" Hogue of the home, her mother Mrs. Catherine Kirst of Nixa, two sons; Donald Dean Kirst of Nixa, and Martin Owen of Brookline, two stepsons Larry Hogue of Springfield and Randy Hogue of Tyler, Texas, tree brothers, Walter H. Kirst of Nixa, Alfred O. Kirst of San Jose, Calif.; and Richard E. Kirst of Maryville, Tenn. and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 5, 1998 at Calvary Baptist Church at Nixa, with the Reverend Carl Curtis officiating. Burial will follow at McConnell Cemetery, Nixa. Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home: Services are under the direction of Harris, a Heritage Funeral Home of Nixa. Memorial donations can be made in Maxine's memory to the Calvary Baptist Church Missions.


William Paul "Bill" Hogue, 75, Nixa, passed away at 9:45 a.m. Wednesday, August 14, 2002, in Cox Medical Center South. Bill was born November 26, 1926 in Tarkio, MO, the son of Rev. Archie A. and Bessie (Adams) Hogue. He was united in marriage to Maxine Kirst on June 22, 1959. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Nixa.

Bill was a veteran serving in World War II and Korea, serving both in the Navy and Army. He enjoyed garage sales, golf and fishing. He was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Maxine; his parents, Rev. Archie and Bessie Hogue; brother Lawrence Hogue; and a sister, Mildred Logston. He is survived by four sons, Larry Hogue, Springfield, Randy Hogue, Huntsville, Texas, Dean Hogue, Nixa, and Martin Hogue, Hollister; a brother, Archie Hogue, Milbrea,CA; two sisters, Verna Claywell, St. Joseph, and Vivian Waters, Sikeston, MO; mother-in-law, Catherine Kirst, Nixa; and brother-in-law, Walter Kirst, Nixa; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 17, 2002 at Calvary Baptist Church, Nixa. Burial will follow in McConnell Cemetery under the direction of AyreGoodwin-Lee Funeral Home at Rivermonte. Visitation will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. today in Calvary Baptist Church, 206 S. Smalley Street, Nixa. Memorial donations may be made to Calvary Baptist Church. Springfield News-Leader, August 16, 2002.
