Joseph Harvey Story of Denton, who was born at Wardell March 10, 1872, died at the home of his son inTallapoosa, MO., June 24, 1960. He was 88 years, 3 months and 14 da7s of age and had lived in Pemiscot County all his life. He was united in marriae to Carrie E. Story at Kennett in 1893. To this union, nine children were born, five passing away in early childhood. He was baptized in the Church of Christ at Steele in 1943. Mr. Story was a retired farmer. Final rites were said from the Boon Chapel Church of Christ on Pemiscot Bayou, Sunday, June 26, at 2:00 p.m. Officiating were Bro. Harold Sharp of Conway, Ark., and Bro. Cleo Blue of Steele. Burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery with John W. erman Mt. Zion Chapel in charge of services. He leaves his wife, Carry E. Story of Denton; four sons, Ollie and O. F. of Pensacola, Florida, O. T. Story of Tallapoosa and John S. Story of Pensacola; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Published in The Steele Enterprise, Steele, Missouri, Friday, July 1, 1960.

Funeral services were held Monday, February 8, 1965, at Boon's Chapel Church of Christ for Mrs. Carrie Elizabeth Story who died Saturday, February 6 at Hayti Memorial Hospital. Bro. Huston Gateley officiated.

Born March 20, 1874, in Dunklin County, Mo., Mrs. Story and members of her family were pioneer residents of north of Denton.

She was married to Joseph Howey Story on February 27, 1893, at Kennett. He preceded her in death on June 24, 1960. Nine children were born to this union, five of whom preceded Mr. and Mrs. Story in death.

She leaves four sons: John S. Story of Pensacola, Fla.; O.L. Story of Pensacola, O.T. Story of Tallapoosa, Mo.; and O.E. Story of Pensacola; one brother, A.L. Reno of Royville, La.; one sister, Mrs. Ann Broker of Steele; 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were T.A. Haggard, Earl Boroughs, Clifford Powell, Marshall Rhodes, Harold Rhodes, and Leonard Poteet.

Burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery with John W. German Service in charge of arrangements.
