Services for Loranzy G. Groves, 80 who died Feb. 10, 1978 at the hospital in Hayti, were held Feb. 12th at 1:30 p.m. in the German-Aumon Funeral Home in Steele with Walter Lumpkin officiating. Burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
He was born March 14, 1897. He was a retired farmer.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Myrtle Groves, of the home; one daughter, Mrs. Margaret Lee, of Longview, Texas; and two grandchildren, Joe Lee of Longview, and Mrs. Annette Ray of Leland, Miss.
Pallbearers were Hugh Samford, Clifford Jackson, Otto Childers, James Crawford, John J. Smith and Nathan Summitt

Myrtle Wallace Groves, 97, of Leland, Miss., died Friday, August 6, 1993 at Delta Regional Medical Center in Greenville, Miss.
A native of Baldwyn, Miss., where she attended public school, she had been a longtime resident of Holland, Mo. and had been a resident of Leland since 1983.
Mrs. Groves was a member of the Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Loranzy G. Groves in 1978 and a son, Joe A. Lee in January 1993.
Mrs. Groves leaves one daughter, Margaret Lee Chandler, of Leland; a granddaughter, Annette Lee Ray of Leland; five great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchilden.
Graveside services for Mrs. Groves were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 9, 1993, at Mount Zion Cemetery in Steele, Mo.
