Leora Monroe, 90, of Wentzville, Mo., died Tuesday, July 24, 2012, at the Parklane Care Center in Wentzville.
Born May 20, 1922 in Boothpoint, Tenn., she is the daughter of the late Neeley and Ellen Nannie Owens.
She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Mattie Sue Cowger and Vernon "Cindy" Rhoades and one brother, James Fred Owens.
She worked as a secretary for Edison Brothers for several years.
Ms. Monroe leaves one son, Emmanuel Ray (Donna) House, of Marthasville, Mo.; Three brothers: Jerry (Irene) Owens of Mississippi, Frank (Karen) Owens of O'Fallon, Mo., and Ersil (Linda) Owens of St. Peters, Mo.; Two sisters: Laladean (Garlan) Jones of O'Fallon and Patricia (Joe) Morton of Steele; four grandchildren: Skipper House, Lisa Terbrock, Clifford House and Kelly Taylor; Four great-grandchildren: Amanda House, Mason House, Cayman Terbrock and Cody Terbrock; and A host of nieces, nephews and many friends.
Funeral services for Ms. Monroe were held at 12 p.m., Friday, July 27 at the John W. Funeral Home Chapel in Steele with Mr. John Mundy officiating.
Burial was in the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele.
Pallbearers were Clifford House, Scott Terbrock, Jeremy Taylor, Joe Morton, Shane Still and Dusty Rhoades.
