Funeral service for Mrs. Hattie Mae Mays was held Monday, June 8, at The John W. German Funeral Home Chapel in Steele. Rev. Larry Rouse officiated.
Mrs. Mays was born October 29, 1920 in Clifton, Tenn. and died June 6, 1981 at Dunklin Memorial Hospital in Kennett at 60. She was the daughter of the late Henry Rainey and Emma Hatley Rainey.
She leaves one son, James Mays of Steele; Three daughters, Mrs. Mary Allison of Steele, Mrs. Margie Biggs of Holland and Mrs. Elizabeth St. Germain of Steele; One sister, Mrs. Daisy Kelsey of Union City, Tenn.; Two brothers, Troy Rainey of Union City and Ray Rainey of Way Cross, Georgia; Nine grandchildren.
Burial was in the Mt. Zion Cemetery near Steele, with the John W. German Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
