Services for Elmer A. Overturf, 82, who died May 25th at the hospital in Hayti, were held May 27th at the German-Aumon Funeral Home Chapel in Steele with the Rev. Ira Wilkins and the Rev. Charles Faught officiating. Burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
He was born Dec. 25th, 1896 in Pemiscot County. He was a retired farmer.
Survivors include his wife, Lottie Gargas Overturf; one sister, Mrs. Minnie Nunnery of Denton; and one, brother, Lee Overturf of Steele.
Pallbearers were Carl Barnard, Shawn Howe, Jadie Barnard, Glenn Flood, Vernon Overturf, and Shannon Overturf.

Mrs. Lottie Gargus Overturf, 86, of Hayti, formerly of Steele, died Jan. 4, 1991 at Pemiscot Nursing Home. Born June 10, 1904 in Kentucky, she was the widow of Elmer "Jack" Overturf. She was a charter member of Denton Assembly of God Church.
She is survived by a sister-in-law, Emma Key of Lakeland, Fla.
She was also preceded in death by a sister.
Graveside services were Jan. 6 at 2 p.m. at Mt. Zion Cemetery, the Rev. Ira Wilkins officiating, with Bradshaw German-Aumon Funeral Home of Steele in charge.
