Mrs. Helen Ozment, a life-long resident of this community died April 27 at Pemiscot County Memorial Hospital in Hayti.
Mrs. Ozment is the daughter of V.L. Funderburk and Rosa Goff Funderburk. She was born in Cooter on August 24, 1916.
A member of the Methodist Church, Mrs. Ozment was president of its ladies' group in Cooter, the Woman's Society of Christian Service.
Services were held at the Methodist Church in Cooter with the Rev. Charles Miller officiating, assisted by the Rev. Floyd Brower of Caruthersville.
She leaves her husband, Howard Ozment, Cooter; two daughters, Mrs. Bobby Lawrence, Steele; and Mrs. Richard Stewart of Memphis; a grandson, Keith Allan Lawrence of Steele; her father, Virgil Funderburk, Cooter; four sisters, Mrs. Lillian Johnson of Hayti; Mrs. Ruth Wilkinson of Hampton, Va.; Mrs. Lora Turner, Temple, Tex.; and Mrs. Dorothy Hamilton of Memphis; and three brothers, Lois, Cooter; Ray of White Plains, N.Y.; and Glen of Memphis.
Burial was at Mt. Zion Cemetery with German Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
