Lee McBride Hall passed through this world into eternity 12:07 a.m. July 4, 2014, at the age of 77. He died at OMC in West Plains, Mo.
Lee was born Nov. 25, 1936, in West Plains, Mo., to David L. Hall and Zanna Bell McBride.
Lee graduated eighth grade May 17, 1950, at West Plains. He went on to receive his GED Feb. 26, 1980.
He served in the Army from 1955 to 1957, serving in the 6th Armored Division out of Ford Leonard Wood, Mo., as a demolition specialist stationed in Germany.
After he got out of the Army he became a well driller with his partner, Truell Langston. They drilled water wells all around Howell County until the death of his partner of 25 years. Then Lee went to work for the Howelll County Sheriff's Department in 1985 until he retired in December 2004, after 19 years of service. He worked as a jailer then as a civil process server until he retired.It was hard for him to retire completely so he went to work part time at the Municipal Golf Course for four years until he came down sick with Lou Gehrig’s Disease (ALS) then he retired all together.He was married to Vesta Venita Lair in 1967 in Salem, Ark., divorced in 1982. Then he married Donna Mae Ramsey Maffei Feb. 2, 1984, in West Plains, Mo. They were still married until his death. Lee was a loving husband, father and grandpa to his kids and grandkids. He liked to camp, fish and play golf.
