Mary “Lucille” Cox was born on May 1, 1925 at Nagle, Missouri to Charles Walter and Ella Elaine (Masters) Sherrill. Lucille passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at her home in Willow Springs surrounded by her daughters. Lucille was 91 years old.
Lucille was united in marriage to Harold Willis “Daig” Cox on May 15, 1943 in Willow Springs by the Reverend A.B. Schowengerdt. To this union, three daughters were born, one dying shortly after birth.
Lucille was baptized on February 26, 1948 and lived a faithful life until the end. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Willow Springs for sixty eight years. Lucille enjoyed cooking, sewing, flowers, mowing her yard and her dog, Suki.
Lucille worked at Rawlings, Western Auto, Curtis Department Store, Willow Springs Forest Service and the Willow Springs Senior Center and retired at the age of eighty eight.
Lucille was a loving wife, mother and granny. The Lord and her family were the most important things in her life
Lucille is survived by her two daughters, Sue Lynn Ellis of Kalamazoo, Michigan and Lou Ann Collins and husband Dale of Pomona, Missouri. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Bob Ellis and wife Denelle of Clarendon, Texas; Christina and Angel Ellis Merren of Kalamazoo, Michigan; Sabrina Parrish and husband Brandon of Pomona Missouri; Tara Bray and husband Kevin of West Plains, Missouri; six great grandchildren, Jacob, Alyssa and Merrek Ellis all from Kalamazoo, Michigan; Daigeen, Taleigh and Kaihler Parrish all from Pomona, Missouri; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Lucille is joined in Heaven by her loving husband Daig; her parents; two brothers, Arthur and Ray Sherrill; one sister, Velma Houston; and infant daughter; and one great grandson Joeseph Parrish.
Visitation services will be held Thursday, May 26, 2016 from 6 pm – 8 pm at the Yarber Mortuary Chapel in Willow Springs, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, May 27, 2016 at the First Christian Church in Willow Springs, under the direction of Yarber Mortuary, Willow Springs.
