Funeral services for Asa Fred Cook of Cardwell, who died last Thursday following a heart attack, were held Sunday afternnon at the Pentecostal Holliness Church. The Rev. Rudolph Davis, pastor or Cardwell Full Gosphel Church, officated assisted by the Rev. Bernell Wells. Burial was in Liberty Cemetery, under the direction of McDaniel Funeral service.
Pallbearers were Luther Dean, Sid Mays, W.T. Barrett, W.F. Harrison, Roy McClearn and O.h. Hartsoe.
Asa Fred Cook was born June 30, 1888, at Marbill Hill, Missouri and died July 31, 1958 at the age of 70 years.
Survivors include his wife: two sons, Raymond Cook of Climington, NJ and Vernon Cook of Forrest City, Ark; three daughters: Mrs. Celesteen Sullinger of New Madrid, MO, Mrs. Margaret Eldridge and Mrs. Ruth Wallace, both of Davison, MI; two sisters: Mrs. Katie Harrell of Los Angeles, Ca and Mrs. Mary Vickers of St. Petersburg, FL; a brother: Johnnie F. Cook of Wyoming; 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Among the relatives here Sunday for the funeral of Fred Cook were Mr. and Mrs. Vernon cook of Colt, AK, Mrs. Celesteen Sullinger and family of New Marid, Mrs. Margaret Eldridge and family and Mrs. Ruth Wallace and family of Davison, MI, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Cook and family of St. Louis.
