Edward Clark was born at Athens, Mo., Feb. 4, 1848 and departed this life at Anderson June 13, 1925 at 11:30 a.m. at his home at the age of 76 years,4 months and 9 days. He was united in marriage with Emiretta Evans to which union were born five children, three of whom survive him: Mrs. Stella Browning of Goodman, Mrs. Jessie Roberts, Bernice, Okla., Ira Clark, Pineville, Mo., Mrs. Bill Lewis passing away in younger days. At the age of 38 he was united in marriage with Sarah Dement, his other wife having passed away. To this union six children were born, four of whom are living the other two died in infancy. Those left to mourn the loss of a good husband and father are the above mentioned son and daughters with his wife and four daughters by his last marriage; Mrs. John Meredith Mrs. Olney Sherwood, Mrs. Jake Carter and Miss Aretha, also one step-daughter, Bertha Kinslow. He is also survived by 21 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren."
