Doris Louise Williamson, a resident of Willow Springs, passed away Tuesday, June 26, 2018 while at Willow Care Nursing Home. Born September 3, 1926 in Willow Springs to Ova E. and Stella (Bunch) Turner, she was 91 years and 9 months old.
Doris and her siblings were raised on a farm in the Dry Creek community. She graduated from Willow Springs High School. She was married on July 16, 1945 to Arthur C. Williamson after he returned home from serving in the United States Army. Doris had a very precise memory for numbers and it has been said she knew countless details about her family and friends, such as birthdays, where they lived, who they were related to, and all the important dates in their lives. She was a great historian and resource of family information as well as area genealogy. She was also a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Willow Springs. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.
Doris is preceded in death by her husband, Art; her son, Christopher; her brother, Earl; and her sisters, Myrtle Bolte and Helen Roberts.
She is survived by her son, Artie and his wife, Bryce of Houston, MO and a granddaughter, Abby of Knoxville, TN.
Doris and her family especially appreciate and are thankful for the excellent care she received at Ozarks Medical Center and Willow Care Nursing Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked memorial donations be made in Doris' memory to Shriners Hospital for Children, and may be left at the funeral home.
Following her wishes, Doris will be cremated with no funeral service. Arrangements are under the direction of Willow Funeral Home. On-line condolences may be left at www.willowspringsfuneralhome.com
