Funeral Was Held at Illinois Bend Monday.
Carl Thomas, son of James F. and Melissa Eaton Bragg was born June 11, 1878 and died April 4, 1925 at the age of 46 years, 9 months and 23 days, after a lingering illness. He attended the State Teachers College at Kirksville, later entering the School of Osteopathy, graduating with the 1900 class, after which he practiced for two years. Not being physically able he gave up this and has since resided on a farm.
He united with the Christian church at Illinois Bend when quite young. He was also a member of the Modern Woodmen lodge.
He was married to Miss Lyda Dawdy, November 4, 1915. To this union was born two children, Mary Virginia who preceded him in death about 5 years ago and Clifford Dale, who, with his wife, father, brother Oren and many other relatives and friends are left to mourn his departure.
The funeral services, which were attended by a large concourse of people, thus attesting the esteem in which he was held, was held at the Illinois Bend church Monday and conducted by Dr. P. D. Holloway of Gorin, pastor of the church. Interment took place in the Shumaker cemetery.
