Irene Nancy Terry, 89, passed away Monday, March 28, 2016, in Jonesboro, Ark. She was born to the late Grover Cleveland Davis and Rosie Dildine Davis on Oct. 5, 1926, in Savannah, Tenn. She was known to most as "Babe" and to her grandchildren as Granny. She worked for many years at the Robert Hamra Store in Steele and later worked at Steele Apparel. She then worked at Angio Manufacturing Company in Blytheville, Ark. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Luxora, Ark.
Ms. Terry was preceded in death by her parents, Grover Cleveland Davis and Rosie Dildine Davis.
Survivors of Ms. Terry include one daughter, Nancy Peters and Alvin of Luxora, Ark.; two grandsons, Kevin Jackson and Tommie of Blytheville, Ark., and Terry Jackson and Raina of the Huffman Community; one step-granddaughter, Cece Jones; one great-grandson, Jakob Ryan Jackson of Huffman; three step-grandchildren, Colby, Christopher and Caitlyn; one step-great-great-grandchild, Remi; three nephews, James and Jerry Terry, both of Steele and Sonny Davis of Green Bay, Wis., and one niece, Ann Medlin of Tennessee.
Funeral services for Ms. Terry were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 30 at Powell Funeral Home with Mr. Barry Bell officiating. Interment followed at Mt. Zion Cemetery. Visitation was held from 12 noon until the time of the service. Pallbearers were Steve Worrell, Zach Worrell, Stuart Worrell, David Daniels, Rance Daniels and Dale Caldwell.
Powell Funeral Home of Steele was in charge of arrangements.
