Mrs. Mattie Catherine Wooten, 91, of Portageville, died Jan. 22, 1994 at Pemiscot Memorial Hospital. Born Feb. 2, 1902, she was the daughter of Harrison and Cassie Brewer Young. She was the widow of Cecil Sidney Wooten.
She is survived by a sister, Ethel Anderson of Brownsville, Texas; Seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by two daughters, four sisters and a brother.
Services were Jan. 24 at 2 p.m. at Jimmy Osburn Funeral Home chapel in Hayti, the Rev. James Jarnagin officiating, with burial in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
