Lillie Ester Murphy Pierce, 72, of Cooter, Mo., died Friday, October, 18, 2002 at the Pemiscot Memorial Hospital in Hayti, Mo.
Born Monday, January 20, 1930 in Florence, Ala., she was the daughter of the late James McKinney Murphy and Chattie Lee Murphy. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Cloyde F. Pierce; one son, Robert Pierce, two grandchildren; two brothers; and three sisters.
She was a homemaker, and of the Church of God faith.
Mrs. Pierce leaves her companion, Jim Anderson, of Cooter; Five daughters: Mary Tucker of Hernando, Fla., Claudia Burton of Mena, Ark., Pat Underwood and Tricia Benson of Holland, Mo., and Betty Duncan of Steele, Mo.; Three sons: James Pierce, Arthur Pierce, and Johnny Pierce of Cooter; One sister, Kathleen Bragg, of Steele; Twenty-three grandchildren; and Twenty-Six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Pierce were held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 21, 2002 at the Bradshaw-Powell Funeral Home Chapel in Steele with Rev. Gary Andrews Sr., officiating.
Burial was at the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele with Bradshaw-Powell Funeral Home of Steele in charge.

Funeral services for Cloyde Pierce, 48, were held Thursday, July 25, 1968 at German Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. John Haywood officiated.

Burial was at Mount Zion Cemetery with German Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Pierce was born January 31, 1920 and died July 23, 1968 after a long illness.

He leaves his wife, Lillie Pierce, of the home; six daughters: Patricia, Betty and Teresa of the home, Mrs. Claudia Robinson; Emma Jean and Penny, both of Memphis; one step-daughter, Mrs. Mary Tucker; four sons: James, Arthur, Johnny Ray and Robert Lee; two sisters and two brothers.
