Funeral services for Mrs. Roenea Martin, 91, were held Saturday, January 22, at 2:00 p.m. at the Samford Church of Christ near Holland. Mr. Walter Lumpkin officiated.
Mrs. Martin was born January 26, 1891, in Tennessee, and died January 20, 1983, at River Oaks Nursing Home in Steele.
The daughter of the late Andrew Jackson and Amanda Roberts Jackson, she was united in marriage to J.T. Martin at Holland May 8, 1910. Mr. Martin preceded her in death September 16, 1973.
She leaves one daughter, Mrs. Shirley Biggs of Holland; One grandson, Carl Biggs of Bryan, Texas; One granddaughter, Mrs. Pam Rogers of Steele; Three great-grandsons, Bradley and Michael Biggs and Brian Rogers; and One great-granddaughter, Tiffany Rogers.
Burial was in the Mt. Zion Cemetery near Steele with the John W. German Funeral Home of Steele in charge.
