Glenda Flood, 75, of Steele, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2016. in Steele. She was born Jan. 21, 1941, in Steele to the late C.G. "Bubbie" Moss and Jo Edna Courtney Moss. She was united in marriage to Glen Flood on April 21, 1960, in Denton. They were married for 56 years. She graduated from the Steele High School class of 1958, then went to work for Family Services. She then went to work for AP&L and retired from Entergy after 33 years. After retirement, she worked for the South Pemiscot School District as high school principal secretary and secretary of the Board of Education. She was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She was also a member of the Assembly of God Church in Steele where she played the piano, was a Sunday school teacher and was president of the WMs, where she was very active.
Mrs. Flood was preceded in death by her parents, C.G. "Bubbie" Moss and Jo Edna Courtney Moss.
Survivors of Mrs. Flood include her husband, Glen Flood of Steele; two sons, Steve Flood and Aymee of Steele and Greg Flood and Sherry of Batesville, Ark.; one daughter, Leanne Flood; one brother, Rev. Gerald Moss and Shirley of St. Joseph, Mo.; mother-in-law, Lavina Flood of Steele; eight grandchildren, Chris, Ross, Seth, Ethan, Sam, Sara, Jake and Emilee; three great-grandchildren, London, Landynn and Avery Jo, and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. Flood were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 24 at Powell Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Clark and Rev. Gerald Moss officiating. Interment followed at Mt. Zion Cemetery. Visitation were held from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23. Pallbearers were Ross Flood, Chris Flood, Jake Flood, Ethan Flood, Seth Flood and Sam Dodd. Honorary pallbearers were Sara Dodd and Emilee Flood.
Powell Funeral Home of Steele was in charge of arrangements.
