Christine Marcella Haynes Kennedy, 60, of Steele, died Monday, Jan. 30, 2012 in Hayti.
Born June 11, 1951 in St. Louis, she is the daughter of the late Clovis and Beulah Haynes.
She was also preceded in death by four sisters, Joan Crawford, Nita Tomlin, Sharon Cannon and Brenda Underwood.
Christine was united in marriage to Dennis Kennedy on Oct. 18, 1966.
Her enjoyment in life was spending time with family. She loved her children and grandchildren dearly, they were her life. Christine was always surrounded by family and she always had a dog by her side. Christine worked at ACCO in Blytheville for many years. She was of the Pentecostal faith.
Mrs. Kennedy leaves her husband, Dennis Kennedy Sr., of the home; One son, Dennis Kennedy Jr., of Steele; Two daughters: Dena Jackson and Pam Muse, both of Steele; One sister, Margaret Dildine of Steele; One brother, Eugene Haynes of Steele; Seven grandchildren: Brittnie Greene, Daniel Bryan, Kyle Kennedy, Brianna Griffin, Jessica Muse, Kaden Kennedy and Ansley Jackson; and Four great-grandchildren: C.J. Greene and Dillan Greene, Parker Yates and Kynnedi Yates.
Funeral services for Mrs. Kennedy were held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 1 at the Powell Funeral Home Chapel in Steele with Rev. Glyn Davis officiating.
Burial was at the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele.
Pallbearers were Brian Kennedy, Blaine Kennedy, Tony Kennedy, Jason Tomlin, Mark Weathers and Chad Jackson.
Honorary pallbearers were Daniel Bryan, Kyle Kennedy and Kaden Kennedy.
