Parents: John Aaron and Edna Robbins
Johnnie F. Robbins, 70, of Jonesboro, Ark., went to be with the Lord Wednesday, July 16, 2014 in Jonesboro. Born October 13, 1943 in Steele, John served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam war from 1965 to 1974. On February 19, 1974, he was united in marriage with Nancy Rook in St. Charles. He was a born-again Christian and a good man.
John's life was changed in 1995, when he received a kidney transplant that helped prolong his life for 19 years. He drove a bus for Greyhound Bus Lines for 17 years.
Mr. Robbins survivors' include his wife, Nancy Robins of Jonesboro; one daughter, Valarie Robbins Bennett and her husband, Todd, of Frisco, Texas; two sisters: Linda Thomas and her husband, Dewey, of Puxico, and Glenda Scott and her husband, the late Harold Scott, of Hornersville.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 19, 2014 at Powell Funeral Home in Steele with the Rev. Jeff Watson officiating. Visitation was held from noon until time of service at the funeral home. Interment was in Mount Zion Cemetery in Steele with Terry Scott, Keith Scott, Randy Scott, T.J. Scott, Jack Burgess and Todd Bennett serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Blen Ragins,, Lindel Turner, Kerry Ragins and Rick Evans.
Powell Funeral Home of Steele was in charge of arrangements.
