Tollie "Hollis" Blevins, age 91, of Pierce City, MO died on Sunday, March 06, 2016, at Mt. Vernon Veteran's Home in Mount Vernon, MO. Mr. Blevins was born in Violet Hill, AR on Monday, July 14, 1924. He was the son of William Noah and Zelma (Cooper) Blevins. Mr. Blevins was a backhoe operator and the caretaker, for many years, of the Pierce City Cemetery.
Surviving are the following: his daughter, Holly Dummit and husband, Roger, of Aurora, MO; one daughter-in-law, Ramona Blevins of Fayetteville, AR; seven step-daughters, Judy Flehmer and husband, Edwin, of Pierce City, MO, Jane Mattlage and husband, Ross, of Verona, MO, Jean Fitzgerald and husband, Bill, of Irving, TX, Joyce Woods and husband, Dwayne of Monett MO, Julia Barnes, of Springfield, MO, Janice Walters and husband, Larry, of Billings, MO, Janell Patton and husband, Jim, of Monett, MO; one step-son, James Landoll and wife, Tammy, of Pierce City, MO; one sister, Vera Bunn of Bolivar, MO; thirteen grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Hollis was preceded in death by his wife, Julie Anna; a son, Alvah Dale; four brothers; and one sister.
The family will receive friends at Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City, MO on Tuesday, March 08, 2016, from 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM. Graveside services will be held at the Pierce City Cemetery in Pierce City, MO on Wednesday, March 09, 2016, beginning at 10:30 AM with Rev. Greg Bunn officiating. Burial will follow at Pierce City Cemetery in Pierce City, MO.
Memorials may be made to the Pierce City Cemetery.
