Funeral services were held Monday afternoon for Mrs. Jesse Caldwell, who died shortly after midnight Sunday night. Services were conducted by her pastor, Rev. J.W. Cunningham of the Baptist Church, at the Methodist church in this city. Interment was made in the Mount Zion Cemetery. German Undertaking Co. was in charge.
Margie Pierce Caldwell was born August 14, 1908 and died at Steele, Mo. on January 15, 1940 at 3:15 a.m., at the age of 31 years, 5 months and 1 day.
She leaves to mourn her passing her husband, Jesse Caldwell, two sisters, Nell Hamm of Steele and Lula Spees of Tupelo, Miss.; six brothers, Arthur and Claud Pierce, of Marks, Miss., Arvell of Amory, Miss., Hubert Pierce in CCC Camp located some place in Iowa and Jeff and Roy Pierce, who reside with their sisters, Mrs. Ham, of near Steele.
She was married to Jesse Caldwell of Steele on November 13, 1937. She was converted and joined the local Baptist Church in December 1938. She lived a true Christian life and made friends with whom she came in contact with.
