Mrs. Ada Gertrude Sayre, 87, of Caruthersville, died Sept. 18, 1990 at her home. Born Oct. 3, 1902 in Huffman, Ark., she was the daughter of Albert Sidney and Mary Jones Miller. She attended schools in Huffman, Ark. She was the widow of Willie Cecil Sayre. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Joye Treece of Caruthersville; One grandson, Vaughn Treece of Caruthersville; And two great-grandsons, Jeffrey Treece of Caruthersville and Scott Treece of Cape Girardeau.
Services were Sept. 21 at 2 p.m. at Central Church of Christ, Jimmy Colvett officiating, with burial in Mt. Zion Cemetery. H.S. Smith Funeral Home of Caruthersville in charge.

Services for Willie Cecil Sayre, 77, were held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the H.S. Smith Funeral Home Chapel with C. Brodie Harrell officiating. Burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele, with H.S. Smith Funeral Home service.
He was born in White County, Arkansas on September 24, 1899 and died at the Chickasawba Hospital in Blytheville, Ark., on November 23.
He was the son of the late Arthur and Mary Sayre and attended school in Arkansas.
On May 6, 1920 in Huffman, Ark., he married Miss Ada Gertrude Miller. The family moved from Huffman, Ark., to Caruthersville, in 1941. He was self-employed as a farmer before retiring and was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ada Sayre, Caruthersville; one daughter, Mrs. Joye Treece, Caruthersville; two grandsons, Mike Treece, Caruthersville, and Vaughn Treece, Caruthersville; one great grandson, Scott Treece, Caruthersville; one half brother, Lawrence Poole, West Memphis, Ark.; and one step-sister, Mrs. Bertha Prentice of St. Louis.
Pallbearers were Bob Jones, Billy McCullough, Billy Joe Sides, Jack Malone, Bill Moore and Perry McDonald.
