Mrs. Joye Y. Treece Broderick passed away on Saturday, February 4th at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau at the age of 84 years, 4 months and 22 days.
Joye was born September 12th, 1927 to Cecil Sayre and Ada Miller Sayre in Huffman, Arkansas.
She was united in marriage to Dewey Treece in Caruthersville after High School and married Bill Broderick in her later years. She worked at various jobs throughout her life but was proudest of her years spent raising and nurturing her family. She was known throughout the community as someone who was always willing to help others but often spent many hours behind the scenes assisting others without their knowledge.
She was strong in her faith and was an active member of the Central Church of Christ.
Joye is survived by her husband, Bill Broderick, a son, Vaughn Treece and his wife Morgan, a stepdaughter, Debbie Copeland and her husband Bob, three grandchildren, Scott Treece and his wife Jodi, Jeff Treece and his wife Laura and Dylan Treece, four great grandchildren, Austin Treece, Kayla Treece, Braeden Treece and Will Treece as well as numerous other relatives and friends.
Preceding Joye in death were her parents, Cecil and Ada Sayre and her son Mike Treece.
Pallbearers for Mrs. Broderick were Tommy Stewart, James Mott, Frank Thrasher, Les Sides, Mike Sides and Sam Crowe.
Visitation for Mrs. Broderick was Wednesday, February 7th at H.S. Smith Funeral Home in Caruthersville. Funeral services were held Wednesday, February 8th at the Central Church of Christ in Caruthersville with Brother Mike McDaniel officiating. Interment was in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele.
H.S. Smith Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
