Elvin F. Ingram, 88 of Haughton, La., died Thursday, October 5, 2000 at the Summit Hospital after a lengthy illness.

Born November 8, 1911, in Ada, Okla., he was the son of Phillip and Clara Ingram. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Vernell, of 51 years; one brother, George Ingram; three sisters: Katherine Lorance, Laurie Clay and Louise Rockhold.

He was a graduate of C.E. Byrd High School and joined the United States Army during World War II and was involved in the invasion of Iwo Jima. He retired from Barksdale Air Force Base after 30 years of service and continued working for Bobby L. Greene Plumbing, and was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Scottish Rites.

Mr. Ingram leaves two sons: Jerry Mosley and his wife Mary Alice of Bossier City, La., John F. Ingram and his wife Janet of Haughton; two daughters: Marcia Scott and her husband Wade of Arlington, Texas, and Margaret Brewster and her husband Anthony of Haughton; four grandsons: Matt Scott, Shane Ingram, Jason Collins and Lance Mosley; five granddaughters: Jeni Ingram, Shannon Haskill, Colyn Scott, Leigh Hornbuckle and Sarah Brewster; and eight great-grandchildren.

Burial for Mr. Ingram was held at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, October 8, 2000, in Steele, Mo., with John W. German Funeral Home of Steele in charge of local arrangements.

Mrs. Vernell Neil Ingram, 76, of Shreveport, La., died at her home Thursday, September 29, 1994, after a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Ingram was a daughter of the late Azzlee and W. Jack Neil of Cooter, Mo.
A brother, Bernie Neil and two sisters, Annie Davis and Sue Rollins, also preceded her in death.
Born and reared at Cooter, Mo., Mrs. Ingram moved to Shreveport in 1945, where she lived until her death.
Mrs. Ingram leaves her husband of 51 years, Elvin F. Ingram, of Shreveport; two daughters: Marcia B. Scott and her husband, Wade, of Arlington, Texas and Margaret Brewster and her husband, Tony, of Bossier City, La.; one son, John F. Ingram, and his wife, Janet, of Tucson, Ariz. two sisters: Lula Mae Davis of Steele, Mo. and Wilma Alford of Sikeston, Mo.; a brother, J.W. Neil, of Cooter;
Eight grandchildren: Shannon Scott of Houston, Texas, Collin Caye Scott of Claremont, Calif., Capt. Matt Scott of Tucson, Jason Scott of Shreveport, Leigh Ann Hornbuckle of Bossier City, Shane Ingram and Jeni Ingram, both of Tucson, and Sarah Brewster of Bossier City; and three great-grandchildren: Danielle Collins of Shreveport; and Addison Scott and Nolan Scott of Tucson.
Funeral services for Mrs. Ingram were held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 3, 1994 at John W. German Funeral Home in Steele with Rev. Tim Abanathy officiating.
Burial was at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele with John W. German Funeral Home in charge.
Pallbearers were J.W. Neil, John Ingram, Wade Scott, Gene Neil, Don DeRoush, and Jerry Davis.
