Funeral service was held Sunday afternoon at the German Funeral Home Chapel for David S. Caudle who died February 26, 1965 at Hayti Memorial Hospital. He was 85 years old and a retired farmer.
Born in Scotts Hill, Tenn., Mr. Caudle was the son of the late Jeff ad Robert Henning Caudle. He moved to the Steele area from Dyer County, Tenn., in 1937 and has made his home here since that time.
Besides his widow, Mrs. Nannie Caudle, he leaves four sons: Leo Caudle of Dyersburg; and Clinton Caudle, Glen Viar, and Morgan "Bud" Viar, all of Steele; three daughters, Mrs. Minnie McCrum of Detroit; Mrs. Clara Haas, of East Tawas, Mich.; and Mrs. Thelma Perry of Dyersburg; 35 grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Dr. Nathan Viar, Ralph Viar, Charles Perry, Harry Jackson, Robert Perry, and Jimmy Perry.
Burial was at Mount Zion Cemetery with German Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Nancy Euvenia Probes Viar Caudle, widow of the late David S. Caudle, died January 16 at 12:10 a.m. at the home of her daughter in Dyersburg, Tenn.
Born May 21, 1875, to Moses and Margaret Parks Probes in Gladgow, Ky., she was preceded in death by two sons, Glenn Viar and Judge M.L. Viar.
Funeral services will be Thursday, January 18, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the German-Aumon Funeral Home in Steele with the Rev. James McCrary officiating.
She leaves two sons, Leo Caudle, Dyersburg, and Clint Caudle, Steele; three daughters, Ms. Fran McCrum, Orchard Lake, Mich., Clara Haas, Pompano Beach, Fla., and Thelma Taylor, Dyersburg.
Interment was to be in Mt. Zion Cemetery at Steele with the German-Aumon Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
