W.E. Griffin, 84, of Pocahontas, Ark., died Wednesday, May 19, 1999, at Beverly Health Care in Blytheville, Ark.
Born in Steele, Mo., he was the son of the late Charles Earl Griffin and Lucille Sivert Griffin. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Johnson Griffin.
Mr. Griffin was united in marriage to Grace Warren in Pocahontas.
He was a retired mechanic for Littrell Ford in Blytheville.
Mr. Griffin leaves his wife, Grace Warren Griffin, of Pocahontas; four sons: Clifford Griffin of Fayetteville, N.C., Denzil Griffin of Fayetteville, Ark.,Earl Griffin of Blytheville, and Wayne Griffin of Dell, Ark.; one daughter, Lorelei Boyd of Steele; one sister, Gladys Lignar, of Bowling Green, Ky.; one step-son Bill Cates, of branson, Mo.; two step-daughters: Linda Morrone of Dalton, Ark., and Georgia Smart of Pocahontas; 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mr. Griffin were held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, May 21, 1999 at the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel in Blytheville with Rev. Roland Chappell and Wayne Griffin officiating.
Burial was at the Mount Zion Cemetery in Steele with Cobb Funeral Home in charge.

Mrs. Dorothy Griffin, 71, of Steele, died Feb. 7, 1993 at her home. Born at Tyler, she was a resident of Gosnell and Blytheville most of her life. She was a member of Gosnell Baptist Church and the Gosnell Extension Homemakers Club and was a retired cafeteria employee for Blytheville Public Schools.
She is survived by her husband, William Earl Griffin; Four sons, Clifford Griffin of Mountain View, Ark., Earl Griffin of Gosnell, Denzil Griffin of Fayetteville, Ark., and Wayne Griffin of Dell, Ark.; A daughter, Lorelei Boyd of Steele; A brother, Bud Johnson of Hoxie, Ark.; A sister, Mrs. Mary Alice Moody of Blytheville; Eleven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Services were Feb. 10 at 10:30 a.m. at Cobb Funeral Home chapel in Blytheville, the Rev. William Oakley and the Rev. Wesley George officiating, with burial in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
