Ellen Marie Gestring, 53, of Braggadocio, died Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at her home.
Born November 27, 1955 in Memphis, Tenn., she is the daughter of Mary Ellen Decker and the late Marshie Oril Decker.
Mrs. Gestring was employed by Crop Production Services in Cooter as a truck driver.
She worked for the Missouri Department of Transportation at the weight scales and was also a hairdresser.
Mrs. Gestring leaves one daughter, Marie Sloan and Jim, of Dell, Ark.; one son, Eric Gestring, of Steele; her mother, Mary Ellen Decker, of Braggadocio; one sister, Patricia Miller, of Braggadocio; two half-brothers: Leonard and Barbara Decker of Rives, and Vernon and Barbara Decker of Paris, Tenn.; two half-sisters: Bernice Rodgers of Poplar, Calif. and Juanita Luck of Poplar Bluff; three grandchildren: Destin Smith, Abigail Sloan and Anna Clair Sloan; one niece, Crystal Stockton; and a host of relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. Gestring were held at 2 p.m., Friday, November 6, at the Powell Funeral Home Chapel in Steele with Rev. John Earl Dunavant officiating.
Burial was at the Mount Zion Cemetery near Steele.
