Funeral service for Lenard Townsend, 75, was held Saturday, April 25, at The John W. German Funeral Home in Steele. Rev. Charles Faught officiated.
Mr. Townsend was born May 25, 1905 in Tennessee and died April 22, 1981 at Geriatrics Nursing Center in Blytheville. He was a retired farm laborer and a resident of Holland before his ill health.
He was the son of the late Nate Townsend and Julia Walker Townsend.
Mr. Townsend leaves his nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Troy Tuberville, Woody Howren, Clell Waldrop, William Biggs, Ethridge McCord, and Hubert Pierce.
Burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery near Steele, with The John W. German Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
