Mrs. Inice Frances Bowen Cothern, 78, Steele, Mo., died Monday, June 11, 1990, at the residence of her daughter, Margie Flood, in Steele.

Daughter of the late John A. and Clevie Pierson Bowen, she was born November 19, 1911 at Tuckerman, Ark.

A member of the First Assembly of God Church, she was a homemaker, a member of the RSVP, and a very active volunteer on the Senior Citizens Lunch Program.

On July 20, 1929 she married Sherman Cothern at Swifton, Ark. He preceded her in death Janaury 15, 1986. Three brothers also preceded her in death.

She leaves two sons: Alfa Dean Cothern of Newport, Ark., and Tony L. Cothern of Thousand Oaks, Calif.; three daughters: Margie Lee Flood of Steele, Betty K. Simpson of Foley, Ala., and Anita Austin of Miami, Fla.; one brother, Alfard Billings of Tuckerman; seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Cothern were conducted Wednesday, June 13, 1990 at 10:00 a.m. at Bradshaw German-Aumon Chapel in Steele by Rev. Loyd Adams.

Burial was at Mount Zion Cemetery near Steele with arrangements by German-Aumon Funeral Home of Steele.

Pallbearers were Gene Reams, Tom Allbritton, Joe Saliba, Glen Flood, Steve Wheatley, and Randy Powell.

Sherman Deward Cothern, the son of the late John and Belle Costley Cothern, was born December 26, 1907 at Jerusalem, Arkansas and died January 25, 1986 at Steele, at the age of 78. Mr. Cothern was a retired farmer. On July 20, 1929 he was married to Inice Frances Bowen at Swifton, Arkansas.

Services were from German-Aumon Funeral Home Chapel Monday, January 27, at 10:00 a.m. Rev. Lloyd Adams and Rev. Charles Clark officiated.

Mr. Cothern leaves hs wife, Mrs. Inice Cothern; two sons, Alfadean Cothern of Batesville, Ark., and Tony L. Cothern of Thousand Oaks, Calif.; three daughters: Margie Lee Flood of Steele, Betty Simpson of Tabb, Va., and Anita Faye Cothern of Fort Myers, Florida; two sisters: Rhea Ashmore of Russellville, Ark., and Dessie Henry of North Little Rock, Ark.; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Charles Clark, Glen Flood, Leroy Nichols, Jim Grissom, Charles Wheatley and Gene reams.

Burial was at Mount Zion Cemetery near Steele with arrangements by German-Aumon Funeral Home of Steele.
