Juanita Loretta (Smith) Taylor was born on February 7, 1928 in McCallsburg, Iowa the daughter of Robert Bryan and Matilda Jane (Fleener) Smith and went to her heavenly home on June 23, 2016 at the age of 88 years, 4 months and 16 days.
Juanita went to school in Iowa and graduated from Maxwell, Iowa High School in 1946. She was joined in marriage to William Eugene Taylor on April 10, 1955 at Oakhill Church in Houston, Missouri. To this union were born three children; Eugene “Gene” Bryan, Leatha Loretta and Arthur Ray.
Juanita accepted the Lord as her savior in November 1954. She found Him the best friend, guide, strength and helper through many trials. She is a member of the Cornerstone Freewill Baptist Church in Mtn. Grove.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her mother-in-law, Nina Taylor Jones, whom she loved very much; sisters, Mable McGowen, Virginia Elliott and Doris Phillips and a daughter-in-law, Anita Taylor. Juanita is survived by her husband, William (Bill) of the home; three children, Eugene Taylor and wife, Pamela of Mtn. Grove, Leatha Smith and husband, Kenneth of Willow Springs and Arthur Taylor and wife, Evie of Prescott Valley, AZ; one step-daughter, Leaette Lally of New Salisbury, IN; fifteen grandchildren, Donna Land and husband, Mark, Lisa Tharp, Cathy Tharp, Lori Black and husband, Eric, Erin Faust, Jennie Cowger and husband, Dale, Gloria Waggoner and husband, Chris, Scott Smith and wife, Amanda, Julie Friedman and husband, Ben, Rachel Caudill, William Jeffery Taylor, Kevin Smith and wife, Jessica, Christy Luckinbill and husband, Cody, Derek Smith and Emily Smith; twenty-eight great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; four special children she treated as grandchildren, Jamie Smith, Valerie Smith, Debbie Beller and Stephanie Smith; and a host of nieces, nephews and dear friends from the many places she has lived. William Eugene Taylor, born March 8,1926 south of Cabool to Clarence Eugene and Nina Viola
Trent Taylor. On February 28, 2018, 8 days before his 92nd birthday, he made his final move to his home in heaven from the Kabul Nursing Home.
William attended school at Pine Flat and Stultz through 8th grade and then went to work on
neighbor farms to help support the family. He was drafted into the Army in 1944. He was headed to Japan with the 98th infantry division when the war ended, and then served as military police with occupation forces attached to the 25th infantry division. After serving his country for two years was discharged in 1946, after the death of his father.
After his military service ended in Fort Knox, KY, he married Fern Bryson in 1947. To this union one daughter was born. Returning to the Ozarks he started a long life of buying, trading, and selling farms.
In 1955 he married Juanita Loretta Smith at Oakhill Church in Houston, MO. To this union three children were born. During their 61 years of marriage he was always looking for new real estate which resulted in them living in 47 houses. Every place they lived it was important to find a local church to attend and serve in. His last membership was at Cornerstone Freewill Baptist Church in Mtn. Grove, MO.
He is preceded in death by his parents; twin infant brothers; two sisters Florence Brown and
Francis Davis; his wife Nita of 61 years and a daughter-in-law, Anita Taylor.
He is survived by daughter, Leaetta Lally and husband, David of New Salisbury, IN; son,
Eugene Taylor and wife, Pamela of Mtn. Grove, MO; daughter, Leatha Smith and husband,
Kenneth of Willow Springs, MO and son, Arthur Taylor and wife, Evie of Twin Falls, ID; brother, George and wife, Betty of Branson, MO; 18 grandchildren, Donna Land and husband, Mark,
Lisa Tharp, Cathy Tharp, Lori Black and husband, Eric, Rachel Caudill, Gloria Waggoner and husband, Chris, Scott Smith and wife, Amanda, Julie Friedman and husband, Ben, Kevin Smith and wife. Jessica, Christy Luckinbill and husband, Cody, Derek Smith, Emily Smith, William Jeffery Taylor, Erin Faust, Jennifer Cowger and husband, Dale, Brad Campbell, Brian
