Funeral services for Beulah Mae Roberts, 89, Willow Springs, Missouri, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 2, 2013, at Pomona Christian Church, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mrs. Roberts passed away at 1:50 p.m., Friday, March 29, 2013, at her home.
She was born August 31, 1923, at Vista, Missouri, to James and Freda Johnson Kelley. Beulah was united in marriage to William Howard Caton on August 31, 1940 and to this union four children were born. Mr. Caton preceded her in death on January 5, 1989. On July 29, 1991, she married George Roberts, who preceded her in death on April 13, 2004. Mrs. Roberts raised her family in Hutton Valley, Missouri and was always willing to help out anyone in need, especially by bringing food as she was an avid and wonderful cook. She enjoyed music, especially southern gospel and played piano by ear. She served for thirty years as organist at Pomona Christian Church; volunteered at Ozarks Medical Center as well as playing the piano at Willow Care Nursing Home to lead residents in song. She once said that if she could have chosen a career, she would have been a nurse, because she loved helping people.
Beulah was kind and loving with a great sense of humor and will be missed by her four children, Steve Caton, wife, Barbara, Pomona, Missouri; Terry Nicholson, Willow Springs, Missouri; Judy Brasier, husband, John, Pomona, Missouri and Sue Smith, husband, Ron, Washington, Illinois; ten grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and countless others whose lives she touched.
Her parents, husbands and all of her siblings, precede her in death.
Mrs. Roberts will lie in state from 4:00 until 9:00 p.m., Monday at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Howell Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions may be made to Pomona Christian Church Building Fund for a new kitchen, and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
