Cassville Republican, July 29, 1897 - George R. Keeling - Died, Friday, July 23, 1897, George Keeling, of Liberty township, age 67 years, 4 months and 13 days, of Bright's disease. Uncle George as he was familiarly known, had been a suffer for several months. Although his sufferings were severe, he was never heard to complain. He, by his patient resignation to his condition, manifested to all that Christian resignation and submission to the Divine will, which had been the characteristic of his life. At the age of 21 he professed religion and untied with the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He was always at his post of duty. He leaves a wife and a number of children and grandchildren. In his death the community has lost a good citizen, the church, a strong pillar, and in his home he will be missed. His life was a model one. The funeral was preached from Numbers xxii 10: Let me die the death of righteous, and let my last end be like his. His body was then laid to rest in the Concord Cemetery, by the side of those of his family who have proceeded him to the better world. Blessed are the dead which died in the Lord, from henceforth: Yea, saith the Sprit, that they may rest from their labors, and their works do follow thee, Rev. xiv, 13.
