Cassville Democrat, January 27, 1917 - Mrs. Mary Ann Jones was born Sept. 4, 1834 and died Jan. 20, 1917, age 82 years, 4 months and 16 days. She was married to the late Titus Phillips, April 6, 1859 and to this union were born three sons, William, John and Frank Phillips, of which the oldest son and father have gone on before. She professed faith in Christ in May 1849 and united with the Baptist Church in Illinois and moved to Missouri in 1872 and united with the Rocky Comfort Baptist Church, until Wheaton Church organized and changed her membership to the church and was a member there until the death angel bade her come up higher to a better land. She bore her sickness with much patience and lived a faithful Christian until she was called home. She was a loving mother and will be greatly missed. While her loss on earth is her eternal gain. Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon, Jan. 21, at the Rocky Comfort Baptist Church by Elder Chas. Vanzandt, after which the remains were interred in the cemetery at that place.
