Georgia Pearl Davis, 98, of Sedalia, died Monday, March 6, 2017 at Sylvia G. Thompson Residence Center.
She was born July 19, 1918 in Sedalia, a daughter of the late George Parley and Effie Pearl (Lutgen) Swearingen. On January 1, 1935 in Sedalia, she married Harley Daniel Davis who preceded her in death on March 7, 2001.
She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church and active in the Deborah Circle. She was a homemaker.
Surviving are two sons, Charles G. (Nancy) Davis, of Greencastle, PA, and Dennis R. (Erma) Davis, of Sedalia; five grandchildren, David (Loretta) Davis, Vickie (Robert) Chesnut, Deborah (Charles) Wilken, Steve (Kim) Davis, Mark (Maria) Engler; 12 great-grandchildren Melissa (Mike) Koonce, Joel (Jen) Davis, Andy (Amanda) Chesnut, Danny (Bridget) Chesnut, Sarah Davis (fiancé Chris Formen), Rachel, Aaron and Ryan Anderson, Chris (Jeana) Wilken, Stephanie (Brian) Conner, Brent (Jeanna) Engler and Josh (Ashlynn) Engler; and 12 great-great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a brother William Leroy Swearingen, two sisters Clara Louise Swearingen North and Naomi Marie Swearingen; a daughter Elverta Marie Engler Forsyth; and a grandson Troy Engler.
Funeral service will be 11 am, Friday, March 10, 2017 at McLaughlin Funeral Chapel with Rev. Dennis Harper and grandson Mark Engler officiating. Pallbearers will be David Davis, Robert Chesnut, Steve Davis, Charles Wilken, Mark Engler and Joel Davis. Honorary pallbearers will be her great-grandchildren. Burial will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 10 am until service time at the funeral chapel.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Wesley United Methodist Church or BHRC Foundation Heart Fund in care of McLaughlin Funeral Chapel.
